The lecture series 2019 at Merz-Academy starts at May 28. 2019 ; 7:30 p.m.
with Gerd Kroskes lecture: “Seeing, storytelling and the public – the cinematic handling of the entrusted-“
“My cinematic interest is in the question: How does memory work? How credible are memories? How do you make these memories visible in documentary films? What are the limits and possibilities of protagonists and how can they be used cinematically so that they distill the evidence for a film? And what film-historical references and preferences are relevant for one’s own documentary work?
About the undermining of the strategies of protagonists, the provocative and supportive in the process, and the pitfalls of documentary contemporary witnessry.”
